The Challenge

Developing Net Revenue Tracker PRO required transforming a functional internal tool into a scalable, enterprise-grade platform capable of supporting DBL Center’s long-term growth strategy. The objective was not simply to enhance an existing system, but to architect a premium dashboard solution that could automate complex RFP processes, centralize analytics, and streamline broker proposal management at scale.

From a technical standpoint, the platform demanded a robust multi-tenant architecture with clearly defined user hierarchies, segmented data visibility, and enterprise-level permission controls. Scalability, performance optimization, and workload distribution were critical to ensure the system could handle expanding broker networks without compromising speed or stability. Because NRT Pro was designed to be demonstrated in high-stakes presentations to brokers and partners, the dashboard experience had to be seamless, visually intuitive, and technically reliable & particularly for advanced modules such as census mapping and RFP generator via 3rd party APIs to result in fully branded Pdf document based on 3 layers filtration in addition to multi size pre-designed templates for the user to choose from & edit.

Strategically, positioning NRT Pro required elevating it beyond the original Net Revenue Tracker. It needed to be introduced as a premium, subscription-based product with clear value differentiation, while maintaining continuity for existing users. This required aligning product development, internal training, marketing communication, and rollout strategy to ensure adoption without confusion.

Ultimately, the challenge was to design and deploy a high-performance SaaS dashboard that balanced technical sophistication, operational scalability, and strategic market positioning—while reinforcing DBL Center’s authority within the insurance brokerage industry.

The Process

Discovery & Planning

With Michael leading the initiative, the discovery phase became a deep immersion into the insurance brokerage ecosystem. This was not a surface-level requirements meeting — it involved extensive engagement with insurance brokers and agency leaders across multiple states, direct collaboration with The DBL Center’s support team, and strategic discussions with agency CEOs and Heads of Digital from organizations such as Alera Group.

Our objective was to understand operational bottlenecks, RFP workflows, commission tracking challenges, and the real-world friction brokers experience daily. We mapped user roles, revenue structures, renewal cycles, proposal generation processes, and data dependencies.

In parallel, we conducted a competitive analysis of leading platforms in the industry. We evaluated their dashboards, automation capabilities, reporting depth, white-label functionality, pricing models, and scalability frameworks. This research allowed us to define clear positioning for NRT PRO — not as a comparable product, but as a cutting-edge system engineered to compete with top-tier industry solutions while addressing gaps competitors overlooked.

Dashboard Redesign & UX Architecture

Because we had an established relationship with Michael and understood his expectations for quality and clarity, we moved quickly into framework development. A fully branded UI direction for NRT PRO was created early in the process, giving Michael a clear vision of how the upgraded platform would feel, function, and scale.

Beyond aesthetics, the redesign focused on usability at an enterprise level. We restructured the dashboard architecture to simplify complex workflows such as RFP generation, revenue forecasting, renewal tracking, and analytics interpretation. Information hierarchy was refined to ensure that General Agents, Super Admins, and brokers each had intuitive access to relevant data without clutter or confusion.

The UX improvements prioritized:

  • Faster navigation between modules
  • Clear visual segmentation of data by company and role
  • Scalable dashboard components for future feature expansion
  • A professional, executive-level interface suitable for live presentations

The result was a modern SaaS-style experience aligned with DBL Center’s long-term vision.

Branding & Visual Direction

NRT PRO required a distinct identity while remaining aligned with The DBL Center’s authority in the insurance industry. We developed a refined visual system that positioned the platform as premium, data-driven, and enterprise-ready.

The design language emphasized clarity, structure, and credibility — clean typography, structured grid systems, controlled color hierarchy, and dashboard-focused visual cues. The goal was to create a product that brokers could trust immediately upon login — a system that felt powerful, stable, and purpose-built for high-value professionals.

This branding approach also supported marketing positioning, reinforcing NRT PRO as the premium evolution of the original Net Revenue Tracker.

System Development (Agency Management System)

From a technical standpoint, NRT PRO was engineered as a scalable Agency Management System with multi-tenant architecture at its core. We structured the system to support segmentation by company, hierarchical permission levels (Super Admin, General Agent, Broker), and controlled data visibility across accounts.

Performance optimization, workload distribution, and future server expansion were factored into the system architecture from the beginning. Security protocols and permission logic were carefully implemented to protect sensitive financial and commission data.

Key system capabilities included:

  1. Automated RFP generation and white-label documentation
  2. Revenue tracking and commission monitoring
  3. Renewal and cancellation oversight
  4. Analytics dashboards with actionable insights
  5. Structured proposal management workflows

Every module was built not only for functionality, but for scalability — ensuring that as DBL Center expands its broker network, the platform remains stable and responsive.

Testing & Deployment

The testing phase was rigorous and collaborative. Over 100 hours were dedicated to live demonstrations, internal walkthroughs, scenario testing, and performance validation. Each module was stress-tested under real-world use cases to ensure stability during broker presentations and high-level executive demos.

Special attention was given to advanced modules such as the census and mapping features to ensure seamless rendering and interference-free demonstrations. Feedback loops were continuous, with refinements implemented rapidly to improve performance, clarity, and responsiveness.

Prior to rollout, internal training sessions were conducted to prepare DBL Center’s team for onboarding and selective deployment to brokers. This controlled launch approach ensured adoption readiness and minimized operational disruption.

Competitive Positioning

Throughout development, we continuously benchmarked NRT PRO against leading competitors in the insurance technology space. By analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, we engineered a system designed not merely to match market standards, but to exceed them.

The result is a cutting-edge, premium SaaS dashboard capable of competing with top companies in the industry combining automation, analytics, branding flexibility, and enterprise architecture into one cohesive platform.
